Custom Fabrication at THG

If the off-the-shelf piece won’t fit, we build the one that will. Weldments, sheet metal, and machined parts, cut and formed and welded in our own building by our own people.

For data center builds that means cable tray and containment, equipment skids and mounting frames, sheet metal enclosures, and the structural supports, catwalks, and brackets that hold everything else up. For a bakery it means the legacy part the OEM no longer supplies. The same shop handles both types of work.

The difference is what happens after the pallet ships. We’re a field-service company with a fab shop, not a fab shop that also ships. The crew that sets and anchors your equipment works for the same company as the crew that built the parts, so the parts get designed by people who know how they have to go in.

The process

How it works

Send the drawing, or send the problem

A print, a DXF, a STEP file, or a photo of the thing that broke. We quote off your drawing when you have one and draw it ourselves when you don't.
We check it before we cut it

Material, tolerance, weld access, and how the part actually installs. Most of what goes wrong on a fab job got decided at the drawing stage, not at the weld.
Cut, form, machine, weld

Laser, press brake, CNC, and our own certified welders under one roof. The part doesn't leave the building to get finished.
Fit and inspect

Weldments get checked against the print before they ship: dimensional, weld quality, and fit against mating parts where we have them.
Ship it, or install it

Palletized to your dock, or set and anchored on site by the same crew that built it. Your call.

Scope

Scope of work

Discuss the items your project needs. Final scope is confirmed with your quote.

Weldments and structural steel. Frames, skids, stands, platforms, catwalks, and pipe and duct supports, built to your drawing and welded by certified welders.
Sheet metal. Enclosures, cabinets, control panels, covers, and housings, cut and formed in house.
Cable tray, ladder rack, and containment. Hot and cold aisle panels, cable management, and the brackets and hangers that carry it.
Machined parts. CNC mill and lathe work for the pieces a weldment can't hold to tolerance.
Legacy and obsolete parts. When the OEM is gone or the lead time is a year, we make the part from the old one or from a drawing.
Prep for install. Deburr, hardware, match-drilling, and match-marking, so parts go together on site the way they went together on the bench.

Custom Fabrication: common questions

Do you build to our drawing, or can you design it?

Either. Send a print, a DXF, or a STEP file and we build to it. If all you have is a problem and a tape measure, we'll draw it, send it back for your sign-off, and build from that.

What materials do you work in?

Carbon steel, stainless, and aluminum, across sheet, plate, tube, and structural shapes.

Do you take one-off parts or only production runs?

Both. A single obsolete bracket and a repeating run of the same containment panel are the same shop, and we quote them the same way.

Can you fabricate for a data center build?

Yes. Cable tray and ladder rack, hot and cold aisle containment, equipment skids and mounting frames, seismic and rack brackets, sheet metal enclosures, and structural supports, catwalks, and platforms.

Do you install what you fabricate?

Yes. The Field Crew that rigs, sets, levels, and anchors equipment is in the same company as the shop that built your parts. Fabrication and installation are coordinated within one company.
